Neighbors Serving Neighbors started in 2020, right as the COVID-19 pandemic hit. We started with the prices near $50-$75 per residential cut. However, we quickly realized that people could not afford to pay over $30 per cut not knowing if they could afford groceries, or even have a job in the coming weeks.
With the overwhelming uncertainty looming over our community, we started to cut lawns on a donations-only basis. We never charged anyone for services, unless we had an actual cost (like mulch, gravel, etc...).
For five years, we worked on only donations, serving the community, and becoming known as the company that will serve you, no matter your current situation.
After growing over 200% from 2023 to 2024, we realized that to continue to grow and expand, we would have to transition from working on a donations-only basis to having set prices. Even though the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic had subsided, we still knew that many of our customers were on fixed incomes. Knowing that, instead of jumping from $30 per cut up to $50-$75 per cut, we decided in 2025 to start our lawn care services at $40 per residential cut, and increase from there, based on the size of the property.
Our goal is still to put the customer's needs first and serve them through our skills. The goal at the end of the day is not to have a large amount of money, leaving the customer pinching pennies to buy groceries. The goal is to serve communities in and around Kentuckiana, at a price that is affordable to them, while allowing us to continue to expand and serve more families in our community.
